Braunschweig, Germany – Independent Developer Dennis Franke today is proud to announce the release of his new social networking app Ambicast. In contrast to other social networking apps such as Instagram, Users don’t just share a photo in Ambicast, but they additionally share a 10 second audio-recording to show the atmosphere from where the photo is taken. The user can also just wander around on a map and listen to sounds from all over the world.
With apps such as Instagram, users are able to share a photo with the rest of the world, but a single photo can’t show what it was really like being there. Ambicast changes this by sharing additionally a 10 second audio-recording to give an idea of the atmosphere from where the photo was taken. That way the Users can look at the photograph, listen to the recording and just let their imagination run wild. Furthermore a photo with an audio-recording doesn’t distract the user from the actual scene like a short shaky movie would do. They also don’t have to worry about the costs, because they can just save the recording and upload it later when they have WiFi available.
The Users can also just wander around on the map and listen to recordings from all over the world. Since the GPS-Coordinates are saved for each recording, the User can for example just go to New York, Moscow or any other place on the earth and listen to recordings from there. If the user finds some really cool recordings, he can also share it with his friends on Facebook or Twitter directly out of the Ambicast.
Furthermore the User can follow other people on Ambicast and listen to what they’ve uploaded. Thus Ambicast is a great way to let your friends for example be part of your vacation, because you can just share a photo with an audio-recording and if they follow you they’ll know exactly what the atmosphere is like on your vacation.
