Toronto, Canada – Blue Parabola, LLC has announced the launch of Beeblex, a free service that allows iOS developers to securely verify in-app purchase receipts against Apple’s server without having to provision and develop their own server-side hardware or software.

Beeblex works by providing developers with a small library that can be easily integrated within their apps and, in a matter of minutes, be used to validate IAP receipts to determine their validity. The algorithm used to perform the validation uses asymmetric encryption to protect all data, and is designed to deter man-in-the-middle attacks and certificate spoofing. In addition, Beeblex keeps track of receipt identification tokens and reports duplicates to the app, helping reduce the incidence of unauthorized receipt reuse.

Beeblex’s encryption mechanisms are designed to be secure, with 64-bit symmetric and 768-bit asymmetric keys, while remaining in compliance with the U.S. Department Commerce exemptions from certification and reporting of products that contain data encryption. Higher security is provided by the service as an alternative for those users who prefer it.

In recognition of the importance of IAPs to the developer community, the service is completely free, and comes with absolutely no catch whatsoever. With the exception of what is strictly required to run Beeblex, Blue Parabola does not collect any information about Beeblex’s users or the users of their apps, and there are no usage limits. Blue Parabola has pledged to continuing offering the verification free of charge for as long as Beeblex is available.

Blue Parabola has also open-sourced the SDK that developers use to access Beeblex. This provides a measure of transparency, allowing the community to examine the code and provide input on possible enhancements to the security model used by the service.

Beeblex supports iOS 5.0 and higher, and is available for immediate use at Beeblex online.
