Ljubljana, Slovenia – HedgeHog announces an update to their latest app, CircleTime, which introduced what they call the next evolutionary step in calendrical design. The revolutionary design of this unique calendar reveals a completely new understanding of time. Instead of days being positioned in rows and columns, CircleTime 1.1 places them in an orbit, on which one can, by turning it, travel forwards or backwards in time. This is truly a historic milestone in presenting time.
CircleTime introduces a simple user interface, which relies on touchscreen technology for its feasible adaptation. It uses concentric circles with appropriate labels to accurately display years, months and days. Each time period is shown with a corresponding arc, presenting the exact time position. It can display time difference from today to any other selected day, and also between two arbitrarily-selected days. The updated version can even present daylight hours, but since length of day depends on geographic latitude and longitude as well as the current date, Location Services must be enabled in order to utilise this added feature.
Besides the new feature and other bug fixes, update 1.1 offers improved stability, considerably faster event loading, a 12-hour clock for AM/PM users and the instructions manual for faster familiarisation with the user interface. What was at first meant only as a “quick fix” later turned out into a major update with the purpose to address all the main complaints from the initial users.
“Our goal is to make CircleTime become known world-wide and at the same time keep perfecting it. This update brings us a step closer to that,” said Dejan Durini, inventor of CircleTime and project leader. CircleTime presently works on Apple iOS devices and at the time of writing supports the Gregorian calendar in the English language only. Future plans include porting to iPad and afterwards to other platforms as well.
