Beijing, China – DreaminGame, the creator of Flight Tycoon released the much anticipated ‘Era of Sail’ on the Canadian App Store today. As a spiritual successor to their representative title Flight Tycoon, Era of Sail is a simulation game incorporating social components, which unveils the oceanic mystique through its scenic grandeur, graphical finesse and a pleasant soundtrack set amid Medieval times.

Ever heard of the legendary Dias, Columbus or Magellan? For players fascinated by seafaring sagas in the Middle Ages, Era of Sail is destined to be the ultimate harbour of their dreams! Similar to Flight Tycoon in terms of basic gameplay, Era of Sail allows players to open up routes and trade with friends, build their ports and cities. However, Era of Sail is far more than a traditional simulation game.

“Seafaring is an interesting theme and the rapid development of modern civilization is based on maritime industry. We believe everyone has a dream of seafaring.” Rui Zhang, DreaminGame founder explains.” With experience gathered in producing Flight Tycoon, we have further enriched the gameplay of Era of Sail by adding engrossing stories and challenging tasks. And we are planning to add a sea-war system in future versions.”

Spot on. Both games feature addictive gameplay, a streamlined user interface with comic-style graphics and an online ‘social community’, yet unlike Flight Tycoon, Era of Sail appears to be more humanized, in which players are encouraged to talk with different NPCs and complete various quests, rather than repeatedly tapping modern aircraft and buildings. Sailors drink beer; merchants look greedy; a cute girl needs your help while evil pirates hidden in the darkness are always staring at your wallet……

Epic vessels and magnificent architecture in Era of Sail are eye-catching, and different NPCs as well as the quest system will easily entice you. Explore while running a business; do tasks while exploring; run a business while doing tasks. A perfect blend, isn’t it?

More interestingly, the game offers you unlimited freedom to decide your own fate, as Cheng’en Lu, the lead producer says, “Players can choose to become the world-respected king of the sea, an unfettered adventurer or the most evil pirate. With every click on your i-device, you are writing down your own seafaring saga.”

Also featured in Era of Sail is a unique pricing mechanism, which serves to challenge players to display their business nous. Prices of goods, including beer, fluctuate every 2 hours, meaning one has to be smart enough to practice the ‘buy low, sell high’ doctrine. According to Rui Zhang, the global release for Era of Sail will come in one month.
