Stockholm, Sweden – For people who like riddles, game developer Apprope is offering a new digital challenge. In Find The Word, players are given seven clues in succession to guess the “one word” answer. Clues are purchased through hint coins, which are earned each time a question is answered. While the game is free to download, extra hint coins can be purchased in the app store.
The gameplay is simple. Players are given a twelve-letter word bank each round, and they can spell out their guesses simply by clicking on each letter. The game has been translated into several languages, including French, German, Dutch, Danish, Swedish, and Norwegian.
Once one series of riddles is solved, game players can move to the next. The game is available in five categories: easy, arcade, hard, film stars, and music. The easy version contains simple vocabulary for kids. The arcade version is a medium-level version with over 100 challenges. The hard version is for people looking for something a little more difficult, as it contains more complex vocabulary and tougher clues. Finally, the film stars and music categories bring a little trivia to the game. Players are quizzed on actors, directors, movies, behind the scenes action, and famous people’s personal lives.
Game developer Daniel Lodin describes it as a “fun, challenging yet exciting game of riddles.” He adds, “Question after question forces players to think outside of the box. At one moment, you’re getting clues about the word ‘iceberg,’ and the next challenge has your brain stretching to completely different concepts to get the word ‘armadillo.'”
