Pleasantville, New York – Artgig Apps is pleased to offer two of their popular kids educational apps, Marble Math (ages 9-12 and up), and Shake-a-Phrase (ages 8 and up), for free (normally $1.99), Friday August 17, as part of a special Back to School promotion with Moms With Apps, a group of family-friendly developers.
Marble Math recently earned Common Sense Media’s highest ratings for learning and quality, “…Marble Math is one of the most fun, customizable, and effective math games available for older elementary school-age kids. Moving the marble around the maze while collecting answers and avoiding obstacles is so absorbing that kids easily forget they’re practicing math skills like fractions, decimals, and roman numerals.”
Based on the Common Core curriculum, Marble Math reinforces strategy and problem solving skills as players practice mental math in a maze. A recent update adds multi-user accounts that allow players to create individual profiles, each with customizable avatars, skills, and game options, and includes a personal game history.
An iTunes Featured Writing app, Shake-a-Phrase offers a variety of play modes for language learning and creative writing at home or in the classroom. AppAdvice says, “Shake-a-Phrase is fun and creative. Perfect for storytelling, writing, creative family dinner conversations and grammar quizzing – if you appreciate creativity you need to consider buying it.”
Shake-a-Phrase lets kids shake up silly sentences by theme and use the integrated dictionary to improve vocabulary. Shake-a-Phrase also includes a Story Starter mode and a Parts of Speech Quiz for a complete language arts workout.
“We know the transition from summer to school can be bumpy for parents and kids.” says Matthew Kicinski, President of Artgig Apps. “Marble Math and Shake-a-Phrase each offer a great opportunity for parents to play with their kids, while easing them back into school mode.”
