Topeka, Kansas – Good.iWare, the company behind the GoodReader(R) app, today announced the availability of the “GoodReader for Good” app, a secure version of the world’s best-selling document reader for iPad, intended to allow employees to take their important documents with them – securely – wherever they go.
Designed using the Good Dynamics(TM) secure application platform, GoodReader for Good utilizes layered security policies and FIPS-certified AES encryption to enable viewing and editing of files from a secure, encrypted container using iPads. This secure file reading app is available immediately in the Apple App Store to users of Good for Enterprise(TM), Good Technology’s secure, mobile email and collaboration application.
Companies must mitigate the risk of sending confidential documents on small, easily lost or stolen devices such as iPads. With GoodReader for Good, employees’ files will always be encrypted and password protected and, if necessary, companies have the ability to remote-wipe the application should a device be lost or stolen.
With GoodReader for Good, government agencies and companies in even the most highly regulated industries can allow employees to view and mark-up PDF files such as manuals, books, maps and magazines, using iPads. GoodReader for Good also enables mobile workers to securely open Microsoft Office(R) documents, TXT files, pictures, audio, and video files.
The GoodReader for Good app allows employees to annotate their PDF files in a number of ways:
* Create popup notes and drawings
* Create Typewriter boxes with callouts and handwritten notes
* Markup PDF text with highlights, underlines and strikeouts
Not only can employees capture their thoughts and comments on top of a PDF file, but also modify and remove those comments later, using a dedicated desktop PDF annotating software like Adobe(R) Acrobat(R) on a Windows or Mac desktop computer.
The GoodReader for Good app offers the same file viewing and annotating capabilities of the general version of the GoodReader app, with the exception that the GoodReader for Good app has its file sharing features disabled to ensure the protection of confidential company files.
Similar to the standard GoodReader app, GoodReader for Good allows mobile workers to organize thousands of files into an easily manageable folder system. It enables employees to do all the basic things that they’ve been used to on a desktop computer:
* Create a complex hierarchy of folders and subfolders
* Move and copy files around
* Rename and delete files
* Zip files and folders into archives
* Unzip and unrar archives
Consumers that do not have a license for Good for Enterprise should consider purchasing the standard version of GoodReader app which is available in the App Store for $4.99 (USD).
Since its release, the iPad version of GoodReader has achieved #1 in sales in the U.S., Canada, France, Germany, Spain and many others. GoodReader is a product of Good.iWare and is known as the top document reader for viewing, navigating and annotating large PDF documents on an iPhone and iPad. Besides its annotate and text search capabilities, other key GoodReader features are active hyperlinks, which enable users to more easily navigate within the document, PDF Reflow, and a computer-like file management system. GoodReader has also set the standard for iOS document readers in the enterprise, offering a high level of document security and synchronization with remote servers.
