Irvine, California – Mobile game design company, Hexahedria today is happy to introduce Wordchemy, a free, innovative letter-swapping word game for iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch. In Wordchemy, players swap adjacent letters within a matrix to form words and score points. Longer words score more points and generate tiles with special functions, but unless a word is formed, letters can only be swapped once!
Wordchemy offers six modes of game play that present varied challenges suited to almost any player or occasion. While the rules and game play of the introductory modes are simple and self-explanatory, other modes offer more complex experiences that will be well appreciated by patient, long-word-finding aficionados. Experiences range from the infinite, no-pressure levels of “Free” mode to timed modes, a mode that rewards players for accumulating special tiles, and a mode where higher levels require longer words.
Players of Wordchemy will benefit from strategic swaps to generate special tiles that then can be maneuvered across the board to form longer words. The special tiles include “stable” letters that do not become locked even when swapped without forming a word, wildcard “mimic” tiles that can be transformed into any letter, and “volatile” tiles that can be detonated to destroy all locked letters on the board.
