Shanghai, China – Piiig Inc., a Shanghai based children’s app developer, today is thrilled to announce the release of its second app Piiig Talk, a digital Walkie Talkie for children aged 5 and up. Piiig Talk lets kids push-to-talk to friends and family on the same Wi-Fi network, as well as send secure voice messages via email to family members and other distant friends or relatives. When by themselves, kids can also chat with the built-in characters Leon and Lila, and hear their own voices in a funny distorted way.
Many families are using technology to keep in touch over long distances and Piiig Talk allows kids to participate in the conversation in a safe and meaningful way. The app makes it easy to send personalized voice messages to extended family members on special occasions and during the holidays. Even in close proximity, Piiig Talk can be a playful tool to facilitate family interaction for children that may otherwise be glued to their toys and devices.
“I played with Walkie-Talkies as a kid, but no one gets to play with them anymore. My kids love to pretend to talk on the phone, and this lets them do it,” says Calvin Chin, Founder and CEO of Piiig. “The Walkie-Talkie is actually part of our first app Piiig Labs, but kids loved it so much that we decided to make it into a free standalone version.”
Piiig Talk is compatible with the Walkie Talkie in Piiig Labs, which includes the same features as well as the ability to build the device yourself, among other fun projects.
