Reading, United Kingdom – Hyperlines has now been launched worldwide on the App store. Hyperlines is distinguished by its extremely intuitive, fast-paced gameplay: drag or tap coloured tiles to form lines of 5 or more in the same colour, as new tiles rapidly fill the board. A deep strategic element is added by the possibility of winning bonus points for special combinations. With ‘normal’ and ‘speed’ game modes, Hyperlines should appeal both to casual and hardcore gamers.
Hyperlines has already generated a lot of excitement among beta testers, its simple but addictive gameplay winning comparisons in particular to ‘Tetris’ (cited by Indie game developer Jonah Wilberg as an inspiration for the game, along with the other classic Russian game ‘Lines’). With full Game Center support and detailed statistics and highscore information, it offers a classic, infinite, highscore-based game experience.
“For me, quality gameplay is everything”, says Indie game developer Jonah Wilberg. “I get bored of a game very quickly, no matter how great the graphics, or narrative, if there are just one or two small game design flaws. Although Hyperlines also has quality sound and graphics, I kept my focus firmly on ensuring that the gameplay is as near to perfect as possible.”
“The game is really at its best on the iPad”, says Jonah Wilberg, “The slightly larger tiles and 9×9 game board make the user interface and gameplay just that little bit more perfect”.
