Arlington, Virginia and Vernon Hills, Illinois – GroupLogic, the industry’s leading provider of software products that unlock the power of new enterprise platforms, and the Rust-Oleum Corporation today announced Rust-Oleum’s successful deployment of its mobilEcho solution. The mobilEcho implementation gives Rust-Oleum’s employees secure access to corporate files on their iPad and iPhone devices, while offering the Mobile File Management options IT needs.
Keeping with the company’s commitment to supporting innovation, Rust-Oleum began distributing iPad devices to the management team in 2011. Users were thrilled with the flexibility it gave them to more effectively do their jobs from any location. IT, however, faced the challenge of determining how to streamline the use of iPad and iPhone, while at the same time maintaining central control and security over the devices.
“mobilEcho allows our employees to grab the content they want and access corporate files on-the-fly, without the hassle of having to carry a heavy laptop and boot up,” says Brad Hillebrand, Rust-Oleum’s director of enterprise technology. “Our employees can read and edit the most up-to-date documents, make decisions, and get back to people in a timely manner, totally streamlining their work process on the iPad and iPhone.”
Hillebrand and his team had started switching the company’s Blackberry users to iPhone concurrently with the iPad introduction. As part of their multi-product plan to implement more security and control, Rust-Oleum’s IT staff implemented several technologies intended to give employees all of the benefits of enterprise technology and support, wherever and whenever they needed it – all without having to bother with the hassle of carrying around a laptop – and mobilEcho was an essential part of this implementation.
“As more companies embrace iPads, iPhones and other mobile devices, demand for secure and efficient Mobile File Access is expected to rise,” said Anders Lofgren, GroupLogic’s vice president of product management and marketing. “mobilEcho was created to provide simple, secure and seamless support to forward-thinking enterprises that are abandoning homogeneity – one device and one operating system for all – in favor of supporting the technology choices of their employees.”
One of America’s most recognized and trusted names, Rust-Oleum is the number one brand of small project paints. Its brands and products span the consumer and industrial small project paints, primers, specialty coatings and wood care categories and include such trusted names as Rust-Oleum, Stops Rust, Painter’s Touch, American Accents, EPOXYSHIELD, Varathane, Zinsser, Wolman Wood Care Products, Modern Masters and Watco.
