Colorado Springs, Colorado – Pi’ikea St. today is pleased to introduce Mask Jumble Animals 1.0 for iPad, iPhone, and iPod touch, one of the first augmented reality games for kids in an iOS application. The app is the first to use facial recognition and allow kids to play the game while viewing themselves in a real time video mirror. Players simply hold the device steady and watch as their animal masks appear on their faces. Pieces of the mask can be interchanged by touching the user’s chin, ears, hair, and nose on the screen. When players achieve a full mask of one animal, they can catch strawberries in order to earn one of a variety of additional animal masks.
* Enthralling 3D mask animation
* First kids game app to use facial recognition
* 10 different animal masks with 40 interchangeable parts
* Real time video mirror
* Mask stays on players as they move
* Players create full animal and catch strawberries to earn new masks
* Take picture to send postcards to family/friends
Mask Jumble Animals creates a captivating mask around the face of the player. He or she simply holds the device and watches the mask appear on their face. Users can move around the screen and watch the features of the animal mask stay synchronized with their faces. They can switch pieces of the mask by tapping on their nose, hair, ears, or chin on the screen. This way, kids can create their own new animal, a combination of any of the 40 interchangeable features that exist in the game.
Kids can play the game while learning about animal features by drawing an animal card and then attempting to recreate that animal in his or her mask. When all of the features match to form one specific animal, the player is rewarded with a new background that features the home of that animal. The app then takes a picture of the player in costume, and a fun postcard can be emailed to friends and family with the click of a button. Players can also take pictures of any combination of animal features they create throughout the game.
Upon creating a full animal, the strawberry icon appears in the lower left hand corner. The player can then choose this and will then have to catch strawberries in his or her mouth by moving around the screen to gain a prize. The prize is a new animal card unlocked that the player can use for the creation of a new mask.
The brilliant animation of Mask Jumble Animals 1.0 proves to be wonderfully entrancing, and kids will find themselves having fun with the advanced technology while learning about the matching qualities of animals.
“Mask Jumble Animals is perfect for kids wanting to have some fun,” says Matthew Smith of Pi’ikea. “They love seeing themselves in the iPad, its mesmerizing.”
