Riga, Latvia – To celebrate the USA National Running Day, developers of MileKeeper have pledged to do their part by running virtual routes around the world with the launch of the new iPhone app. Now, runners everywhere can join in and use the app to track their miles on one of the many virtual routes available in MileKeeper.
With the help of GPS, users can pick the start and end points of a selected activity to track their mileage on a route. Travel the famous Route 66 while driving to work or see how many laps it takes to swim the English Channel. MileKeeper features a variety of pre-determined routes that can be downloaded for free for every activity. Whether it’s the choice between running, rowing, bike riding or driving, MileKeeper offers an innovative way to keep fitness fun.
Developed to be used simultaneously with other popular fitness apps, MileKeeper expands the concept of activity tracking to incorporate maps from around the world making any route possible. “As a runner myself, I track over 150km a month and wanted to find out what that distance converted to on a route across Australia. Stemming from my curiosity, we came up with the idea for an app that would track routes virtually so anyone could see how far they traveled on a route or map of their choice,” says Martin Vaveree, MileKeeper Developer.
Key Features of the MileKeeper app include:
* Connect with friends on Facebook to compete against each other or work together
* Play customized playlists while tracking your activity
* Discover new exciting Routes – sports, historical, fictional etc.
* Learn interesting information within each route
* Manage your stats to see overall accomplishment
* Create custom routes based on personal goals
* iPhone 3GS, 4, 4S, 5, iPod touch and iPad
* Requires iOS 4.3 or later
* 13.6 MB
