Oslo, Norway – Oogababy introduces oogababy 1.0 for iOS. The Instagram and the Viddy for parents adds a revolutionary way for tracking growth and development of children dynamically. The app has just launched in the App Store.
Parents are excited to watch their children grow and develop. Many parents attempt to track development of their children by visual comparison to other children. But tracking growth and development is a much more complicated science. “oogababy lets parents track and predict growth and development in a simple manner,” says Gunnar Wold, CEO and founder of oogababy.
Unlike other solutions, oogababy has a revolutionary feature for tracking growth and development dynamically. It makes it fun and easy to follow your child’s growth and development in the first years of life. With a few taps you can find out if your child is developing in accordance with the World Health Organization (WHO) standards. Basically, oogababy presents a current growth curve and makes future growth and development predictions in an intuitive manner.
While most babies develop skills in a particular order, there is a wide age range between baby milestones. Most babies learn to crawl before they walk. But the age at which babies learn to crawl or walk varies greatly amongst babies. – Parents often treat development as a race but fail to understand babies’ individual differences, says Gunnar. With oogababy parents can stay informed and plan ahead based on realistic expectations of their children’s development.
Just like Facebook, it is easy to share everyday moments with your loved ones on oogababy. The app aims to be the Instagram and the Viddy for parents and shift baby-related posts away from Facebook to a channel controlled by parents.
oogababy for iPhone was released in the App Store on March 29, 2013 and has infectiously spread amongst parents in all continents by word-of-mouth.
oogababy has a ton of features in the works. A future version of the app will offer more features to link with private photos and videos stored with other providers, more social sharing options, more advanced photo and video filters, new ways to navigate and share content, and more.
Oogababy is self and angel funded and is currently raising. The team will be presenting at the Startup Alley at TechCrunch Disrupt in New York later this month.
