Mountain View, California – Rocket scientist, Jacob Hull, follows his passion for cooking and brings Recipe Cloud to Kickstarter. Recipe Cloud 1.1.2 is a social network for discovering and sharing recipes. The app allows users to manually input recipes from written sources or save them from websites. Users of the app are then able to follow other users to find out what they have been cooking.
After several months of development, the first version of Recipe Cloud has launched in the iTunes app store. With already well over 10,000 downloads, initial reception of Recipe Cloud has been excellent. Early users are really enjoying it.
“This app is just what I was looking for! I’m always finding recipes on various websites and either have to bookmark the page or email it to myself to try to keep track of all the ones I like and want to use again. With this app I can pull all the information from those online recipes and store them in my own custom cookbook for easy access and reference! Great app, that I will definitely keep forever,” says Diego Ojeda.
“I love using Recipe Cloud because it’s the easiest way to share recipes with friends and family!” says Eva Samoza.
Jacob Hull, who until recently was a rocket scientist at Space Systems Loral, left his job to develop Recipe Cloud. “I created Recipe Cloud because I wanted a good way to share my favorite recipes with my family and friends. I couldn’t find any existing products that allowed me to seamlessly discover, share, organize and prepare recipes,” says Hull.
After his initial success with the iOS app, Mr. Hull is bringing Recipe Cloud to Kickstarter.com. His goal with the Kickstarter funding campaign is to raise the necessary funds to create a web-based version of Recipe Cloud. By doing so, he hopes to be able to make the service available to a wider audience and improve the experience for existing users. If the Kickstarter campaign is successful, he also has plans for an android version of the app.
