Bath, United Kingdom – Nathan Randle, independent developer of the popular International Space Station tracking app Sat Seeker today announces a competition to celebrate the app’s first anniversary since launch.
Sat Seeker 1.5.3 allows users to track the International Space Station’s position over the earth in real time and gives details of upcoming visible passes. To remind users of passes it can also send push notifications shortly before a pass is due to occur so that they don’t need to make any extra effort to remember the very specific timings involved.
The app has been well received since its launch in June 2012. Thousands of users have been able to enjoy the wonder of watching a spacecraft fly above them, something that many were unaware was even possible before discovering Sat Seeker. The app also made an appearance in the UK App Store top 20 chart of all apps. Phillip Schofield a prominent british celebrity & regular ISS spotter has endorsed the app to his greater than 2 million Twitter followers on multiple occasions.
“There has been a massive resurgence in interest in space and particularly the International Space Station over recent months” said Nathan Randle. “I believe much of this is down the amazing work of Commander Chris Hadfield during his International Space Station mission which has rekindled people’s interest and imagination. I hope this continues and through apps like Sat Seeker we’re making space even more accessible to everyone.”
To help expand the app’s social media presence and as part of the anniversary celebration, Sat Seeker is running a competition for one of their fans on Facebook or followers on Twitter to win an iPad mini. Details of how to enter the competition can be found at Sat Seeker online.
