London, United Kingdom – Sport.com (former Plus Sports), an international developer of health and fitness apps, made it to the global iOS Top 5 Paid Apps’ Publishers Chart (August 2013). Their Smart Alarm Clock, a sleep tracking app for iOS was ranked 3rd among the Top 5 Paid Apps in August, pushing Sport.com to rank #4 on the global paid app publisher list, the highest ranking health and fitness app publisher.
The latest report on top global apps presented by Distimo shows that Sport.com is gaining momentum with their expanding portfolio of healthy lifestyle apps. In August, Sport.com’s Smart Alarm app showed an increased download volume of about 50 percent compared to July, and was the sole health and fitness app that made it to Top 5 and only gave way to the two gaming apps – Minecraft – Pocket Edition and Asphalt 8: Airborne.
Consequently, Sport.com moved up to rank 4 and was the only health and lifestyle app publisher among the Top 5 global publishers of the paid apps. This achievement appears to be just an interim step for Sport.com, who are aiming to cover all users needs within health and fitness. Their two practice oriented apps All-in Fitness and Yoga.com provide full guidance to yoga and fitness beginners and pros. One of the company’s best seller products All in Yoga with over 7 million downloads led the company to acquire the premium domain yoga.com, launching soon as a dedicated social and content site, having partnered with premium content producers and wellbeing brands.
There are also two groups of apps for cardio and nutrition. Sport.com’s trackers for iOS can be used for any cardio activity from running to cycling or roller-skating and record user’s time, distance, elevation, speed, and other parameters. Nutrition-focused Calorie counters help to make smarter food choices and keep track of the calorie intake.
Sport.com’s most recent success – Smart Alarm Clock – topped the paid app July charts in over 30 countries, including the US App Store. The same month, it was one of the top 5 apps in over 75 countries. As the company celebrates success, there are other promising projects underway: Fit & Share community for fitness beginners and pros and their renewed Yoga.com site.
