Melbourne, Australia – Comicorp Worlds today announced that their interactive children’s storybook app, Striding Bird, has been named among the world’s best in family-friendly media and products with its latest achievement of The Mom’s Choice Award in the pre-schoolers and age 5-8 categories.
Created by Melbourne app developer Wenpo Sun and writer Stephanie Yap, Striding Bird is an original interactive storybook app tracing the journey of a bird discovering the true meaning of happiness and self-identity. Since its release Striding Bird has been received with a positive reception and has been featured on Australia’s ‘What’s Hot’ iTunes charts.
The Mom’s Choice Awards is an international awards program that recognises authors, inventors, companies, parents and others for their efforts in creating quality family-friendly media, products and services.
Winners are selected by an esteemed panel of judges made up of education and media experts as well as parents, children, librarians, performing artists, producers, medical and business professionals, authors and scientists. Panel members include Dr. Twila C. Liggett, ten-time Emmy-winner, professor and founder of PBS’s Reading Rainbow; Julie Aigner-Clark, Creator of Baby Einstein and The Safe Side Project; and Jodee Blanco, New York Times best-selling author.
The production duo shared that the new award reinforces the story app’s objective of inspiring its audiences. “Our app’s interactive features, the identifiable main character Striding Bird and its touching storyline were designed to really inspire our audience of children and their parents as they journey through their own lives,” said Wenpo. “So we’re really excited to have attained international recognition for Striding Bird – it’s a great opportunity to expand our reach and really make a difference to our readers.”
