The Big Little Quest 2.1 for iOS – Classic Isometric Adventure Game
London, United Kingdom – ITL Business today is pleased to introduce The Big Little Quest 2.1 for iOS, their new classic adventure game that features retro isometric graphics. Reminiscent of such games as the original Zelda and Golden Sun, The Big Little Quest is an episodic adventure with engaging gameplay. In this first episode, our hero Axel has In has returned home after a few weeks away working on board ship and is horrified to find out his older sister, Alice, is missing. Rumors are that she is being held captive by a villain, whose proposal of marriage she has rejected, in his castle. Players must find a way to the castle by talking to local people and using the clues along the way, so Axel can rescue her.
The Big Little Quest provides a 3/4 view, diagonally from above, and like many isometric games, it employs square tiles on the ground or floor to enhance the illusion of 3D. There are many interior and exterior scenes in the game, and each consists of a “room” of square tiles beneath the feet of the characters. There are many flat boundaries and cubic obstructions that Axel must jump over, but the game would not be categorized as a platformer.
In landscape orientation, players touch one of the four corners to have a character walk in that direction. A double tap with the finger left on the screen after the second tap causes the character to jump in that direction. Alternatively, the player can double tap in the center of the screen, which will initiate a jump, and then tap one of the four corners to have the jump go in that direction. Once players have collected a weapon (one of eight items available), they can shoot by swiping one finger from any part of the screen in the direction they are firing. Touching any part of the screen with three fingers pauses the game and displays the inventory; touching the screen with four fingers displays the tutorial.
Feature Highlights:
* Relaxed pace of gameplay
* Unique music themes created especially for the game
* Listen to music on the iPod app while playing
* Automatic left and right landscape mode
* Three different modes to control the game
* Works in any device with iOS 3.0 or greater
There are many scenes in the game, including Axel’s house, his father’s workplace, a Buddhist monastery, the monastery garden, the library, the villain’s castle, and the paths and roads between locations. Maps and signposts assist the player in fulfilling their quest to save Axel’s sister Alice.
“I have been working as software developer for more than 13 years, focused really on server side development and databases, but also have strong background on Flash ActionScript developing mini games and websites,” stated developer Jose Miguel Gomez Gonzalez. “Basically, what I have developed is an isometric game engine I can use to generate Cocos2d games. The Big Little Quest is a RPG/Adventure game, using the same engine, same isometric look as my previous game, but much different graphics and storyline.”

* iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch
* iOS 3.0 or later (iOS 4.3 tested)
* 18.4 MB
