San Francisco, California – Digital media company, Vixely, released its debut iPad issue “Let’s Get It On!” through the Apple Newsstand. The iPad magazine offers interactive, multi-media content on topics such as sex, dating, fashion and lifestyle speaking to the modern, digital woman.

Vixely’s immersive content is smart, sexy, real and refreshing. All of the Vixely products, including iBooks and apps, are designed specifically for the iPad. The magazine includes interactive features such as e-commerce, video, music, location-based city guides, social sharing and personalization.

“The tablet market is radically changing the game for traditional media players and Vixely is poised to be on the cutting edge of this new movement. We believe the future of media consumption is combining the evergreen elements of books, the visual design of magazines, and the e-commerce, multi-media and social aspects of the web,” commented Jennifer Eident, Co-Founder and CEO.

Co-founders Jennifer Eident (a Stanford MBA and engineer), Nora Bass (a former investment banker with over ten years experience in Women’s Health) and Lara Glaister (a Parsons-educated designer) founded Vixely out of their shared passion to solve women’s needs through content, technology and design. Vixely was born out of their frustration over the lack of quality content for women in a voice that resonates and that is designed to fit their digital lives.

“We want to empower, enlighten and entertain young women through smart, witty and authentic content presented in an efficient, interactive format,” said Nora Bass, Co-Founder and COO. “We founded Vixely to fill the void for media that resonates with real women who are fed up with magazines’ repetitive and inaccurate advice, the irrelevancy of books and print media in our digital lives, and countless empty Google searches to find answers to our most intimate questions as inherently inquisitive women.”

The Vixely team sees a huge opportunity in providing a female-positive and sophisticated voice for the digital generation as an alternative to Cosmopolitan Magazine – which remains the number one selling women’s magazine – and in disrupting the $30 billion women’s magazine industry.

“We have taste-makers telling us what we should wear, where to go, what the latest trends are – but distasteful porn and sophomoric magazines like Cosmo advising us on how to better our sex lives and communicate with our partners,” said Lara Glaister, Co-Founder and Head of Design. “We are creating a media experience that captures women’s real life experiences, that is curated to cut through the noise in both an aspirational and accessible way. As sophisticated, Digital Gen women, our team is uniquely able to pair the right message with this new, digital medium.”
