Taipei, Taiwan – On June 7th, the popular app WhosCall will be released on the iOS platform in the United States, Japan, and Hong Kong. WhosCall is primarily used for identifying unknown calls and stopping unwelcome calls such as phone scammers, advertisements, and telemarketers. WhosCall boasts over 3 million downloads in countries such as Taiwan, United States, Japan, Saudi Arabia, South Korea, etc, while also identifying and blocking over 10 million unwelcome calls per month.

Originally slated for release on 6/8, overwhelming support from Taiwan fans prompted the developers to give them an early exclusive. Upon release, WhosCall for iPhone shot through the charts to become the #1 App in the Paid Overall Charts, all in a mere 3 hours. WhosCall for iPhone is targeted for release next in the United States, Japan, and Hong Kong.

Due to differences between the iOS and Android systems, WhosCall for iPhone is slightly different from its Android counterpart. WhosCall for iPhone has three primary features:

* Reverse Number Search: Users can input numbers and search for information from a global database of over 6 million entries.
* Call Guard List: Users can create a personal list of numbers that will have warning prompts pop up when they call.
* Call Guard Database: A list of numbers that have been identified through community feedback and complex algorithms to be potentially malicious. These numbers will have warning prompts attached to them when they call, serving as a frontline of protection for users.

Jeff Kuo, founder and CEO of Gogolook Co., Ltd., the creators behind WhosCall, had this to say: “WhosCall for iPhone marks an important milestone of our vision in creating a contact network of trust. We wish to take communication back to its roots, and let people concentrate on calls that they deem to be important, instead of playing guessing games with strangers.”

WhosCall is a critically-acclaimed app that has won numerous awards such as the 2012 Asia Mobile Application Competition Golden Awards, the 2013 Google Taiwan Best Innovation Award, and has been publicly praised by former Executive Chairman of Google, Eric Schmidt. It currently has a 4.5 rating on the Google Play Store.
