Darby, Pennsylvania – Developer Just Mobile Programs announced the new launch of the Word-A-Fall 1.2 app, available for $1.99 USD on iTunes. Word-A-Fall is a word-based game that challenges players to spell as fast as they can. Users race against the clock to create different words quickly before they disappear into the waterfall. The application offers three timed challenges, each tracking player scores.

To get started, players simply select the game mode from the main menu. Tile letters will begin coming down a waterfall. Each letter has a point value from 1 to 10, impacting the overall score based on selection. In order to craft words, players must select letters by tapping them before they disappear in the waterfall. Users can then submit their words by swiping to the right on the entry box. The point value of each tile determines the score from each submission. The more tiles a player can string together, the more points they acquire. The game ends when time runs out. Users will then see their final score, best word, and word count.
Users have the option of choosing from three different game play modes. Classic mode allows players two minutes to spell as many words as they can. Wordsmith mode challenges the user’s ability to generate large words quickly. Players are required to craft words with 4 letters or more in order to receive any points. Rushing Rapids mode increases the speed of falling letters after the submission of each word.
In each game, players can utilize action tiles that can help or hinder their progress. Positive action tiles give the player an advantage by rewarding them with more time to play or multiplying their score. There are also negative action tiles that balance the gameplay.
The updated version of Word-A-Fall has improved upon many aspects of gameplay. In addition to fixing bugs and improving stability, there are added sound effects and title music, new animations for the falling tiles, and game center integration which includes leaderboards, achievements, and challenges to encourage competition among players. More social integration is also included, allowing users to share their scores via Twitter, Facebook, Email or Text messages!
“We took our users comments into careful consideration with this update,” said Prescott. “Our goal was to improve the overall functionality and enjoyment of this game. The new features reflect that goal, and we know people will appreciate that.”
