Houston, Texas – zGames announced today the launch of Animal Alphabet with Geoffrey the Giraffe. The popular and award-winning educational video featuring Geoffrey the Giraffe is now available as an interactive app for the iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch, Android phones and tablets, and Windows Phone, as well as an eBook.
Hosted and narrated by Geoffrey the Giraffe, The Animal Alphabet contains 30 minutes of live-action animal footage from National Geographic. A winner of the prestigious Parent’s Choice award, it features a unique and catchy song for every letter and animal.
Originally released on VHS and television, The Animal Alphabet has been a fan favorite for decades. “Children who grew up watching The Animal Alphabet on TV are now seeking out the video to share with their own children, and parents are looking to share it with their grandchildren,” stated Chris Howard, CEO of zGames. “Now it is an app available on all of the most popular devices.”
“Geoffrey’s Animal Alphabet was an outgrowth of music videos I was creating for Sesame Street when my now grown up daughter was 2 years old. It was inspired by her love of animals and never-ending singing,” explained Geoffrey Drummond, creator and director of the original video. “Great music, fun lyrics – she and her friends watched it again and again and again. Pure enjoyment. Timeless.”
Children can select individual letters to watch and sing along to their favorite animals or start from the beginning and play the entire alphabet. The app has an interface that’s easy enough for a 2 year old to navigate.
