Murder Detectives is not technically a game. In fact, it is more like a graphic novel, where your participation in very minimal. The lack of involvement is not a bad thing, and the sense you get from being a neutral observer is quite relaxing. Every so often, a new chapter will begin in the story. Before proceed, you will quizzed on some basic information that you would have learned from the story to see if you were paying attention. Aside from the quizes, the involvement consists of tapping the text bubbles to continue and selecting a variety of things the detective can do. These don’t seem to affect the final result, because by the end of the day, all options are exhausted regardless of your choice. If you’ve enjoyed playing Heavy Rain for Playstation 3, then you will likely enjoy Murder Detectives for iOS as the premise behind the game is similar and significantly less complicated.
