However, there’s something about a cross-platform messaging service that lets communicate with a more consistent experience across platforms. Today, we’re taking a look at Yabb Text and Voice Messenger for both iOS and Android.

Yabb Text and Voice Messenger is a cross-platform application, available both on your Android device and on iOS. With Yabb, you’ll need a phone number to setup an account, much like WhatsApp. Once created, you’ll need to take some time to invite friends, unless you already know people on the platform. Yabb features an array of capabilities that include, but are not limited to text messaging, customizeable background, emoji, audio messaging and even free phone calls! Calling and messaging is totally free from any country and is possible via 3G, LTE and Wi-Fi. There are many more, but I’m sure you get the idea. Using Yabb is also straight forward, all the controls are there in front of you so the hardest part is getting your friends to download the app. On the bright side, if your friends refuse to join, you can even meet new people using the Yabb’s nearby people finder service. There are tons of hidden gems like this all over the app, so its not your regular cross-platform wannabe app.

Overall, Yabb proves to be a an extremely feature-filled application, offering significantly more capabilities than defaults messaging platforms on both iOS and Android. My biggest issue, and I think this matters a lot more than it might seem, is that Yabb is very poorly designed. Yes, the features are great and there’s many of them, but the app’s design feels disconnected from its functionality. The buttons are blurry, the interaction is choppy and leaves much to be desired. I think with a completely new approach to UI, Yabb can prove to be a quite attractive alternative to cross-platform communication on both iOS and Android.
