Wilmington, Delaware – Three-dimensional (3-D) bubble charts let managers uniquely compare projects and business investments against 4 different criteria simultaneously, such as costs, risks, rewards, and resources. Bubble Chart Pro(tm) Version 5.3 for Mac and Windows adds zoom-boxes to its 3-D bubble charts to let managers isolate and display small selections of bubbles by simply drawing a rectangle on the chart that contains those bubbles. Thus, zoom-boxes are a convenient way to “zoom-in” on a specific area of a bubble chart, and they are particularly useful in analyzing crowded charts that display many bubbles.

This latest release of Bubble Chart Pro(tm) also increases the size and resolution of some export charts, and adds some additional preferences for customizing chart displays.

In a 3D bubble chart, projects are represented by bubbles floating in a 3-dimensional rectangular space where data is represented by the X, Y, and Z axes and the size of the bubble. By dividing the space into sections, managers can determine at a glance which are their best projects and which are their worst projects. For example, the top, left, front section might contain the projects with the lowest costs, lowest risk, and highest strategic value whereas the bottom, right, back section would contain the projects with the highest costs, highest risk, and lowest strategic value.

The 3D bubble charts are highly customizable to allow users to choose the look that they want, including changing colors, backgrounds, pictures, fonts, etc.

In addition to zoom-boxes, managers can look around a 3D bubble chart by rotating the chart horizontally and vertically on their monitors. This lets them explore their data thoroughly in the 3D environment, and get valuable perspectives in a natural interactive manner.

“Zoom-boxes are one of the most popular features in our original two-dimensional (2D) bubble charts,” says George Huhn, developer of Bubble Chart Pro(tm). “They help customers drill-down into their portfolio data in crowded charts. After we added 3-D charts in version 5.2, customers began asking to have zoom-boxes in the 3-D bubble charts, too. So now they have them in version 5.3.”

Bubble Chart Pro with 3D bubble charts comes in three editions. Bubble Chart Pro BASIC is the basic full-featured bubble charting application. Bubble Chart Pro PLUS includes a SMART prioritizer for prioritizing or ranking projects, project bar charts, and an executive dashboard. Bubble Chart Pro OPTIMAL adds an easy to use quantitative optimizer for finding an optimized portfolio of projects that will deliver the maximum value when the business doesn’t have enough capital, resources, or risk tolerance to do all the projects in its portfolio.

Bubble Chart Pro starts at only $149.97 USD, and a free demonstration version can be downloaded from the Bubble Chart website. All Bubble Chart Pro editions can be used in the latest Mac and Windows operating systems.
