San Diego, California – In a first for a dedicated fine motor skill app, Dexteria Jr. has been featured in the tablet version of Parents Magazine. The app is one of four apps featured in the playroom section of the newly released September issue.
“As more parents become aware of the importance of fine motor skills in early childhood development, we are seeing more press coverage on the topic,” said Frank Jensen, CEO of BinaryLabs. “We are very excited to be mentioned in Parents Magazine, as they are a well respected brand and trusted by millions of moms and dads,” he said.
More and more research is emerging about the importance of fine motor skills. Researcher Laura Dinehart, Assistant Professor at the College of Education, Florida International University found a link between preschool fine motor writing proficiency to later achievement in reading and math. She found that kids who demonstrating proficiency in handwriting in preschool scored much better on 2nd grade tests in reading and math. For more information, see the video at the link below.
Dexteria Jr. and its big brother app, Dexteria, are designed to improve fine motor skills in kids of all ages. Designed in consultation with licensed occupational therapists, the apps feature a set of hand and figure exercises that are fun and engaging.
