Bethesda, Maryland – Just in time for the 2012 presidential election, educational game company, Ball & Sprocket, Inc. is pleased to introduce the THUD! Presidents Edition game for iOS devices. THUD! Presidents Edition 1.2 is an innovative new game that combines amusing trivia with core curriculum to ensure that users of all ages are enjoying themselves while learning interesting and often surprising historical information. The combination of humor and physics-based challenges makes learning with THUD! easy and addictive. A valuable teaching tool for parents and teachers, THUD! Presidents Edition is the first of many titles planned to be released in the THUD! educational game platform.

Developed by parents with over 50 years of education industry experience, the THUD! platform is designed to deliver quality curriculum in a way that is engaging and entertaining. With senior-level experience from Blackboard, Inc., Sylvan Learning, Hooked on Phonics, and The Teaching Company, the Ball & Sprocket, Inc. team holds firmly the belief that technology and humor can be combined to help kids regard learning as a fun experience and not as an activity that should be dreaded.

The objective in THUD! Presidents Edition is to complete each of its 40 levels by stacking building blocks unlocked by learning presidential trivia. The questions are themed around U.S. presidents, ranging from fun and wacky to historically relevant, and varying in difficulty with 2 levels of play: BRAINY and INSANEY. Did you know that John Quincy Adams kept a pet alligator in the White House bathtub? Or that Franklin D. Roosevelt was related to 11 other presidents? With THUD! Presidents Edition, parents, teachers and children have access to over 1,000 amazing questions featuring facts, quotes and historical trivia.

“The app store is a minefield of so-called educational games that frankly aren’t very fun,” said Andrew Rosen, Ball & Sprocket CEO. “THUD! is first and foremost fun to play, no matter what your age, or how much you know about the presidents.”

“We focused on the game play first,” Rosen added, “but when kids play for a little while, they surprise themselves with what they’ve learned.”

In coordination with the upcoming 2012 election and the release of THUD! Presidents Edition, Ball & Sprocket has released a visually-compelling infographic titled ‘Did You Know This About the Presidents?’ to prove that learning about presidents can indeed be enjoyable. This infographic visualizes uncommon, fun and interesting facts about U.S. presidents. Included in the graphic are contrasts of U.S. presidents’ heights and weights, presidential hereditary cross-connections, parties that U.S presidents have belonged to, causes of presidential deaths in office, values of presidents on combined currency, and wars that veteran presidents have served in.
