Kolkata, India – Tech BLA today is pleased to introduce GlassCamera 1.01 for iOS, its innovative new app that applies one of 21 adjustable, realtime, optical distortion effects to photos or videos. This kind of effect, which simulates shooting through various panes of window glass, is computationally intensive and rarely offered as a realtime effect, viewable while shooting. The app also offers 10 adjustable, realtime, 3D Emboss & Color effect filters, and users can post-process, adding a 3D effect to a video shot with an optical effect, or the reverse.

Feature Highlights:
* Record movies with retro effects in real time
* Supports video recording on iPhone 4, 4S, 5; iPod touch 4/5; iPad & iPad mini
* Apply effects to existing videos
* Swap lenses and films at any time
* Turn on/off flash on supported devices
* Switch between front and back cameras on supported devices
* Tap to focus and adjust exposure
* Export options: Save to Camera Roll, email, or Dropbox
* Swap easily between portrait and landscape modes

With so many photos and videos online and on iDevices globally, iPhotographers have increasingly adopted a wide range of filters and effects to help their work stand out. Nearly all of these perform image processing at the level of the individual pixel, altering hue, saturation, brightness, contrast, or gamma. GlassCamera is completely different. Its 21 adjustable, realtime, optical distortion effects have no effect whatsoever on the five parameters previously mentioned. Instead, by simulating the distorting effects of shooting through various combinations of window glass, the app performs image processing at the level of zones containing large groups of pixels. The continuously variable distortion simulates the natural effects of light refraction, not the artificial effects of digital pixel-manipulation.

For example, one of the most familiar optical distortions seen in films is usually achieved with the help of a fisheye lens, a distortion effectively simulated in GlassCamera by the Orb effect. According to Widipedia, “A fisheye lens is an ultra wide-angle lens that produces strong visual distortion intended to create a wide panoramic or hemispherical image. Fisheye lenses achieve extremely wide angles of view by forgoing producing images with straight lines of perspective (rectilinear images), opting instead for a special mapping (e.g., equisolid angle), which gives images a characteristic convex non-rectilinear appearance.”

In addition to the Orb effect, the app offers a selection of 20 other optical distortions, including: Dice, Perimetric, Horizon, Cubicle, Skewish, Concave, Window, Domino, Upright, Slant, Angled, Casey, Designer, Abstract, Ringtic, Basics, Perspective, Looptic, Wormhole, and Squarish. GlassCamera also offers a choice of 10 adjustable, realtime, 3D Emboss & Color effect filters, including: Softic, Middy, Decolor, Mint, Darkroom, Sabour, Chromic, Solar, Highcolor, and Colortone.

“Transform and see your world through GlassCamera, the first smart-camera app for capturing amazing photos, videos, and movies from special, customized, glass lenses,” stated Pranav Agarwal of Tech BLA . “GlassCamera is an amazing video and photography app that allows you to record your world through a glass screen!”
