Edmonton, Canada – Pyxwise Software’s new spelling application “Spellyfish – Short A Words” has made its debut on the App Store, and it has already been featured by Apple as New & Noteworthy in the US education category. The adorable and friendly Spellyfish will help your child learn phonics and the primary letter sounds and letter names of the alphabet. Spellyfish will also teach your child how words can be broken up into separate sounds and how the letter sounds can be blended together to form short words.
A child will learn how to recognize both the lower case and upper case letters of the alphabet. He/she will also learn about the starting sounds of words and how similar ending sounds can make words rhyme with each other. In addition, Spellyfish teaches the critical phonological and phonemic awareness skills that children need for obtaining literacy in both reading and spelling.
Designed with classrooms and families in mind, Spellyfish supports up to 40 user accounts. Each user’s settings can be customized to the student’s individual needs. Student progress is automatically tracked, and the easy creation and emailing of reports is also supported.
