Pearl River, New York – Trial By Survival is a post-apocalyptic, top-down action role-playing game set in an overgrown world long after civilization has collapsed. The player’s character has been accused of unspeakable crimes and banished to the wasteland to prove their innocence. The player writes the rest of their survival story using game mechanics like character perks, weapon building/leveling, companionship and real world scavenging. Randomly generated maps and levels keep every game unique and permanent death is a feature that keeps the game challenging. Trial By Survival has great replay value.
The game world of Trial By Survival is very kinetic and responsive to the player’s actions. Cars will explode, igniting buildings on fire, which can spread to other objects. Windows break when shot with a weapon or when enemies come crashing through them. Walls can be broken to create impromptu escape routes.
Trial By Survival’s graphic art style is influenced by comics. The world is lush with overgrowth as nature takes over where civilization once was. Vines dangle from power lines and flowers grow out into the street. This environment is enhanced by subtle environmental effects and punctuated by realistic sounds and special effects for combat.
Trial By Survival has two game modes, Survival Mode and Arena Mode that complement each other. The scavenging system in Survival Mode requires coins that can be earned in Arena Mode, and weapons can be unlocked for Arena Mode through progress in Survival Mode.
