Tomsk, Russian Federation – A friend of mine once told me that she doesn’t like the way iOS7 auto-crops the photo when it is set as wallpaper because significant portions of the image appear cut off. And there is no way to make the image fit perfectly into the screen.
After googling for a while I immediately stumbled into the fact that it’s a common problem. Many people don’t like this behavior in the newly released iOS7. Some even wanted to revert back to iOS6 just because of that.
It is related to the new parallax effect that was introduced in iOS7. The effect requires the background image to be a bit larger than the screen area. The worst cropping occurs if the image has different proportions than the iPhone’s screen and that means – almost any image you might want to use as a wallpaper will be affected, even those taken with the iPhone itself.
