Atlanta, Georgia – App developer Wasabi Productions is proud to be accepted into the Moms with Apps list of approved developers who are taking children’s privacy seriously and communicating with parents about how their apps use data.

The Know What’s Inside initiative is designed to help family-friendly developers comply with the Federal Trade Commission’s updated Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA) that went live on July 1st 2013 regarding online and app content aimed at children under 13.

The Know What’s Inside logo is a signal to parents that an app is designed with privacy in mind and that a developer has committed to tell parents how our apps work so they know what to expect.

Belonging to the Know What’s Inside program means a developer’s apps are made especially for children, the app maker maintains a clearly written and displayed privacy policy, the app explains the features of the app, and the app maker is informed about the latest privacy regulations and industry best practices.

After due diligence research and consultation, Wasabi Productions updated their privacy policy to make clear that their apps do not collect personally identifiable information, contain no in-app purchases or 3rd party advertisements and that all external links are protected via a 3-second-hold link. All language was updated to be as clear and understandable as possible.

Amy Friedlander, VP Marketing & Strategy for Wasabi Productions says, “We have always strived to be a world-class family-friendly storybook app developer and are proud to continue to uphold the highest standards and best practices when it comes to designing technology for children and giving parents peace of mind.”
