One of the best activities for overall brain development and enjoyment is learning to play a musical instrument. Unfortunately, the process isn’t easy and involves learning to read sheet music, which is comparable to learning another language. Fortunately, with the help of a clever app for iPad, you won’t be struggling as much and you might even enjoy it.
Mozart 2 Pro is a game designed to help you or your kids learn how to read sheet music in a fun and education fashion. The premise is rather simple and is based on the fact that practice makes perfect. The screen is divided into two portions. The upper portions will display moving notes (from right to left) and the bottom will be the instrument of your choice. This can be anything from a piano to a bango. There is actually a very large selection of instruments and will be sure to fit many interests. As the notes show up on screen from the right side, your job will be to tap the correct keys on the piano or frets on a stringed instrument. It vaguely resembles guitar hero where your actions need to match the notes on screen, however, there isn’t any kind of rhythm or song to follow so it’s much more open and flexible in that sense. Before you start playing, the initial screen is a great place to experiment. You can choose any instrument to play with and the notes will shows up as you play them, making it really easy to practice without any pressure.
Overall, I thought Mozart 2 Pro was a great application and resource for the starting musician. Learning to read music is one of the most difficult parts of starting to learn an instrument and is one of the biggest deterrents of newcomers. However, it doesn’t have to be that way with Mozart 2 Pro. Learn to read music and have fun doing it using this great little app.
